Hi, I’m TYMothe
TYMOTHE, my creative identity, is a fusion of my birth name, Timothy, and my artistic exploration. I was born and currently reside in North Carolina. A small creative printing business owner and artist who delves into autobiographical experiences and psychological constructs through my artworks. My art and design journey began at Northwest School of the Arts High School in Charlotte NC, and where I received my last formal creative education, alongside self-directed resources and practical experience.
The Art of TYM
Street art and graphic design were my initial experiences of creative freedom, which have significantly influenced my choice of working with acrylic paints on various surfaces like wood, canvas, and paper. My artworks are characterized by heavy black outlines, organic shapes, and vibrant stories that explore both representational and non-representational imagery, creating juxtaposing dimensions.
Mixing flat landscapes with dimensional forms, referencing the world around us. Colors, and natural shapes relax the senses to the fluid-like patterns, found in clusters and flowing throughout compositions, serving as expressive or narrative elements. Exploiting the power of negative space and contrasts, creating depth and energy. A true testament to how our value from experiences is integral to the consciousness of popular culture(self) and unity(world).
Exploring within my own creative style allows me to create unique singular and universal experiences of evolving forms and landscapes shaped solely on the energy or emotional state at the time of creating. This detail of application within my work holds great importance to me. Each artwork is rooted in a unique creative language, expressed through various dialects that possess strong attributes of abstraction, surrealism, art-brut, and pop art.
